West Heights Youth (WHY)
Join our vibrant youth group, where inclusivity, food, and fun are at the heart of everything we do! We provide a welcoming haven for students in grades 6th-12th, offering a space to discover God's boundless love, enjoy exciting activities, and share a delicious meal together.
At our youth group, you'll find a blend of fun, faith, friends, and food that's sure to brighten your day. Engage in spirited games, meaningful conversations, and be part of a community where everyone finds their rightful place.

Our Social Principles guide our interactions:
-
Honor the Place: Every space we use in West Heights, and anywhere else, is a privilege and a safe space. We will treat it as such.
-
Honor the Purpose: We aren't here just to be here. Everything we do has a purpose. We will honor that purpose by participating as fully as possible and helping others participate as fully as possible.
-
Honor the People: In order for this to be a safe space, everyone deserves your respect, and you deserve everyone's respect. Everyone with good intentions has a place here. Do not cuss, keep a good attitude, and keep your behavior in check. We are a Reconciling Community and West Heights UMC is a Reconciling Church, so inclusive language is a must. The only person that doesn't have a place at West Heights Youth is someone who willingly hurts others.

Join us at WHY, where love, laughter, and togetherness create unforgettable experiences for all.

Welcoming Statement

In the West Heights Youth Group, we embrace the United Methodist motto of having “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors”. We emulate Jesus by including and welcoming everyone. Through His affirming of us, we affirm all regardless of age, sex, race, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. We recognize that our church and all peoples are blessed by association with all human beings.
